Joinery
What types of custom joinery do you make?
We make custom kitchens, built-in wardrobes, laundries, storage, entertainment units, outdoor kitchens and other made to measure joinery.
Do I have to pay for a quote?
No. There is no charge for discussing your project and preparing a quote. We will work through the details together so you understand the proposed work, what is included and the price. Payment is only required once you are satisfied with the quote and scope and choose to proceed, in line with the agreed payment terms.
What information do you need to prepare a quote?
To prepare an accurate quote, we need a clear idea of what you want the finished project to look like and include. Measurements, plans or sketches, a design concept and a scope of work are helpful. If some details are undecided, we can discuss them with you.
Can you help if I do not have a finishes schedule or final design?
Yes. For smaller projects, we can help develop the details from your general idea of the finished result. If your project needs a more detailed design or finishes schedule, we can put you in touch with one of the designers we work with.
Do I get to review shop drawings before production begins?
Yes. Once the quote and scope are approved, we prepare shop drawings for your review. Production begins only after the required details have been approved.
What materials, finishes and hardware can I choose from?
We can guide you through the available options, share supplier brochures and bring samples to help you choose materials, finishes and hardware for your project.
How long does custom joinery usually take from approval to installation?
Timing depends on the size of the project, materials, finishes and level of detail. As a general guide, smaller projects may take from four weeks in production after the shop drawings are approved, followed by installation on site from one week after delivery. A full house project may take from six weeks in production and from four weeks on site.
What happens if I want to change something after approving the drawings?
We are generally happy to cover the drafting cost for minor changes. A substantial redesign will be charged at the drafter's hourly rate for the time required. We will explain any cost and get your approval before arranging the change.
